- Founder and President of Lasertron, Inc. from 1980 to
1995.
- Recipient of IEEE's 1992 David Sarnoff Award for the
invention and commercialization of the GaInAsP
semiconductor laser for fiber-optic communications.
- Founder and former Vice Chairman of the Board of
Wuhan Telecommunication Devices Company (WTD), a
joint venture with the Ministry of the Posts and
Telecommunications in China.
- Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of
Southern California.
- Recipient of five patents and author of countless
technical papers.
